THE LINE
A few years ago, I embarked on a relationship with a simple motif: the line. The Line is a study of the journey of a continuous rule as it flows into a composition, meanders with right angles, and exits—only to reappear in the next. This ongoing movement explores how the line interacts with surrounding shapes, tonalities, and textures across a series of 36” x 60” canvas environments. Through all of it, the line is the elixir.
Set free to zigzag, the line wanders through each space—never confined, always evolving. It leaves one canvas and re-enters another, creating a continuous narrative over a body of work. Like a world traveler, it moves through diverse “regions”—from minimalist abstractions, to dense geometric fields, and eventually into conceptual terrains.
This series is not just about a line—it’s about motion, connection, and transformation.

Because the line tightly adheres to the contours of the composition’s two black shapes, it’s less apparent in this painting than in others.
